Gym 300 Functional Training

Functional Training

Gym 300 is the Highlands’ premier, yet inclusive functional training gym! A family run establishment, owned and operated by long-tenured fitness professional and gym manager Tom Ashmole, alongside his wife - NHS registered nurse and fellow fitness professional, Nicola. Tom and Nicola are supported by a team of dedicated and fully qualified fitness professionals as well as our resident physiotherapist - Falk Schlaghecke.

So what is functional training exactly? It can mean many things after all! To us, functional training implies any method of training that is transferable to the real world – your world. Training that results in improvements to you in terms of physical ability and overall health and well-being. Training that allows you to function, the way you should!

We’ve established an environment where you will get all the support and motivation you need to stay consistent and on track. We genuinely care about each of our members and view them like family.

Gym 300 is a multi-purpose functional training facility that holds an environment designed to get you results. This environment includes a large selection of resistance and cardiovascular training equipment, including a Barbell free-weights training room fitted with three platforms, four squat racks, and two flat benches.

The main gym plays host to several specialised training machines and equipment including an extensive range of Kettlebells and Dumbbells, two cable towers, a selection of renowned “Hammer Strength” resistance training machines, a BeaverFit Performance Rig and a Glute Hamstring Developer.

A mirrored state-of-the-art studio is located within the gym. Which includes a fully sprung wooden floor and surround sound system. The studio plays host to many classes, including Muay Thai, Boxfit and Bootcamp Circuits. At the back of the studio is a specialist platform designed for Powerlifting competition. It has become our honour, to recently be selected by Scottish Powerlifting (Scotland’s governing body of the International Powerlifting Federation) as the host of their 2017 Northern-region open competition!

In the past year, as a result of member feedback, we have expanded our range of specialist cardiovascular equipment available to our members to include 3x treadmills, 3x Concept 2 rowers, 3x Spin bikes, 1x Stepmill, 1x Cross-trainer and 1x Concept 2 Ski-Erg all of commercial standard.
